Adult and Healthy Aging Vaccination

This session will examine the growing importance of vaccination throughout adulthood and older age. Discussions will address adult immunization schedules, vaccination among healthcare workers and other occupational groups, travel vaccination, and immunization of older adults. Speakers may explore vaccination against influenza, pneumococcal disease, respiratory infections, shingles, and other vaccine-preventable conditions. The session will also consider factors that influence vaccine uptake among adults, including awareness, access, healthcare-provider recommendations, and confidence. Researchers can present evidence on vaccine effectiveness and immune responses in aging populations.
